If you enter your address in the signup form, three things are stored: the address, the moment it arrived, and which page it was submitted from. That is the whole record. No IP address, no browser fingerprint, no advertising identifier - none of it is needed to send a weekly email.
The list lives in a Cloudflare D1 database controlled by this site and is not sold, rented, or shared. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link; using it marks the address as unsubscribed and stops all further mail. You can also ask for your address to be deleted outright by replying to any email.
The site is served by Cloudflare Pages, which keeps standard server logs of requests, including IP addresses, for security and abuse prevention. Those logs are Cloudflare's and are governed by their privacy policy.
This site counts pageviews itself rather than handing that job to an analytics company. When a page loads it records four things: the page, the date, the website you arrived from (the domain only, never the full address or anything you typed into a search box), and the two-letter country code Cloudflare already resolves for every request.
Alongside that, two things are noted about how the page was used: the furthest point down it you scrolled, rounded to the nearest tenth, and for anything you clicked, roughly how far down the page it was and the wording of the link. That is how this site learns which parts of a page get read and which get ignored.
There is no cookie, no identifier, no IP address and no browser fingerprint in any of it, no recording of your screen or your mouse, and everything is added into a daily total rather than stored as a separate visit. It all sits in the same Cloudflare D1 database as the mailing list and is not shared.
One thing is stored on your device, and it is worth describing exactly. Your browser keeps a single date: the day it first loaded this site. That date never leaves your browser. What is sent, once per visit, is only which range it falls into - today, one to seven days ago, eight to thirty, or more than thirty. It is the only way a calendar can tell whether anyone finds it useful enough to come back, and the reading measures above cannot answer that: someone who checks when the next CPI lands and closes the tab in twenty seconds got exactly what they came for.
Alongside that range, one more word is sent: whether you arrived from an advertisement, from a link on another site, or by typing the address. Three possible values, nothing narrower. This site runs paid advertising, and without that word a visitor who was shown the same advertisement twice looks identical to one who came back on their own, which flatters the advertising and tells the site something untrue about itself. It is the same fact the referring address already records for every page view, rounded down to three options before it is sent.
No identifier is created for you. Two people whose browsers first saw the site on the same day are indistinguishable here, so this cannot count unique visitors, cannot link one visit to another, and cannot build a profile. Clearing your site data removes the date and the site treats you as new. If you would rather it did not store even that, blocking site data for this domain disables it and nothing else on the site changes.

This site is enrolled with Google AdSense, and Google's ad script loads on every page. Google may set cookies and use them to measure and personalise advertising; what it collects is governed by Google's own policy, not by this one, and you can review your choices at My Ad Center. No ad units are being shown yet. Any that appear later will sit in fixed places on the page - never as a popup, an overlay, or anything that covers what you came to read.
